Tyler Utzka/Evening Anchor

Tyler Utzka is an award winning news anchor and producer who has been with KIMT News 3 since April of 2017.

He currently anchors the weeknight 6 and 10 o'clock newscasts.

Tyler spent five years anchoring KIMT News 3's DayBreak morning newcasts before moving to evenings in March of 2022. He was part of the morning team to debut the station's new Rochester studio in the fall of 2017.

During his time here, he's received three Regional Emmys. The latest one, in the fall of 2022 for producing and anchoring the DayBreak newscast the morning after several tornadoes touched down in Southern Minnesota and North Iowa in December of 2021.

He also interviewed former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence during a visit to Des Moines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tyler was born in Albert Lea and grew up nearby in rural Walters, Minnesota.

Before starting with KIMT News 3 he worked at WDTN in Dayton, Ohio and KEYC in Mankato, Minnesota.

In his free time Tyler enjoys Crossfit, taste testing beer from local breweries, spending time with friends, family and his dog, Porter and enjoying everything Southern Minnesota and North Iowa has to offer.
