Not guilty plea in theft of more than $2,000 worth of tools in Winnebago County

FOREST CITY, Iowa – A man accused of stealing tools from his employer is pleading not guilty.

Logan Robert Swearingen, 30 of Thompson, is charged with second-degree theft.

Law enforcement says he stole roughly $2,881 worth of tools from Lichtsinn RV in Forest City.  The thefts allegedly occurred on April 22 and April 29.

Investigators say Swearingen was caught on surveillance video stealing the tools.

His trial is scheduled to begin on September 27 in Winnebago County District Court.
